Spiegelberg-Becher

On Tuesday, May 11 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford, Mr. Sylvan F. Spiegelberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Spiegelberg of this village was united in marriage to Miss Joan R. Becher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Becher, Stratford.

The Rev. Anthony Fischer read the nuptial Mass at 9 o’clock.

The bride wore a self made gown of white satin featuring a wide ruffle that encircled a deep, round neckline. Her fingertip veil was caught to a lace bonnet. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and swansonia.

Miss Florence Becher, sister of the bride was maid of honor in a light blue ninon gown which featured a ruffle extending down the back from the waist to hem. Al Becher brother of the bride served as best man.

Dinner was served at the house of the bride’s parents.

Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Spiegelberg of Spencer attended the wedding.

Mrs. Spiegelberg, a graduate of the Stratford High School, is employed at the Becher Ice Cream Parlor in Stratford. The bridegroom was graduated from the Lake Forest High School, Lake Forest, Ill. and is employed at Jensen Motors, Spencer.

The couple will make Spencer their home upon returning from a short wedding trip.

The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
