Kostohryz, John J. (9 December 1936 – 29 December 2009)

 

John J. Kostohryz, 73, of Black River Falls passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Country Terrace, Black River Falls while under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice.

 

John was born Dec. 9, 1936, in Black River Falls to Adolph and Phyllis (Kutchera) Kostohryz.  John was the oldest of six children born to Adolph and Phyllis.  He spent his entire life in the Town of Irving.

 

He spent his early years working on the home farm in the Town of Irving until its sale.  He then worked at the Jackson Box Factory in Black River Falls until its closure.  He also had been employed at D & S Mfg. and on various farms in the Black River Falls area.

 

John enjoyed his motorcycles, guns, tractor pulls and just being outdoors.

 

Survivors include a sister, Mary (Jerry) McNulty of Black River Falls; three brothers, Len (Jill) Kostohryz, Robert Kostohryz and Donald (Madeleine) Kostohryz, all of Black River Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janis (Gerald) Severson.

 

Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Irving Cemetery.

 

There will be no visitation or further services.

 

Memorials may be given to Black River Memorial Hospice, 711 Adams St. Black River Falls, WI 54615.

 

The Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, is assisting the family with arrangements.
