Boris, Erma M (22 October 1917 – 13 August 2009)

Erma M. Boris, 91, of Sparta died Thursday, August 13, 2009, at the Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta.

She was born Oct. 22, 1917, in the Town of New Lyme, Monroe County, to Albert and Anna (Johnson) Ball.

She married John Boris May 28, 1938, in Decorah, IA.

She was a lady that loved her family, crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, cooking and working with her flowers.  Erma lived life to the fullest.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Linda Boris of Sparta; three grandchildren, Jason, Jessica and Matthew; Sasha the dog; special friend, Phyllis Abbott; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, Sept. 17, 2000; four brothers, Henry, Spencer, William and Loren Ball; and two sisters, Edith Hoard and Edna Harper.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Cataract, with Reverend Lon Jury officiating. Burial was in the Cataract Cemetery, Cataract.

Friends called at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta Monday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
