Kittler, Ruth B. (25 March 1927 – 25 June 2009)

 

Ruth B. Kittler, 82, of Cumberland died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Cumberland Extended Care Unit.

 

She was born March 25, 1927, in Hixton to Hugh and Gladys (Savage) Sprester.  Ruth graduated from Hixton High School in 1945 and worked at a military base near Tomah.  She moved to Milwaukee and was married Oct. 8, 1949, to William Kittler.  They lived in the Milwaukee area and moved to Cumberland in 1978.

 

Ruth was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and the ladies aid.

 

She is survived by her husband, William Kittler of Cumberland; one daughter, Cheryl (Dennis) Gospodarek of Littleton, CO; two grandchildren, Shannon (Tim) Taaffe and Shawn (Mary Gospodarek) of Taylors, SC; one great-grandson, Samuel Gospodarek; one brother, Earl Sprester of Amery; and one sister, Marian Allen of Cumberland.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church, Almena, with Rev. Ellery Groth officiating.  Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Almena.

 

Pallbearers were: Shawn Gospodarek, Mike Allen, Pat Allen, Tim Sprester, Tom Sprester and Mark Allen.

 

The Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland assisted the family with arrangements.
