Nelson, Arthur A. (21 September 1961 – 13 June 2009) With Flag

 

Arthur A. Nelson, 47, of Bremerton, WA, formerly of Northfield, died June 13, 2009, in Bremerton.

 

Art was born Sept. 21, 1961, in Beloit to Cyrus K. and Joyce E. (Neblock) Nelson.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in Alma Center and later joined the U. S. Navy serving from 1979 to 1984.  Art worked for Farrell’s Home Health for many years and then for the Sportsman Warehouse in Silverdale for the past five years.

 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and NASCAR.

 

Art was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Norman Nelson.

 

He is survived by his brother, Owen Nelson of Whitehall; aunts and uncles, Loren (Diane) Nelson of Northfield, Elaine (Lyle) Chandler of Hixton, Betty Nelson of Alma Center, Dale Nelson of Black River Falls, Sandy (Bob) Cooper of Cataract, Terry (Katie) Neblock of South Beloit and Larry (Donna) Neblock of South Beloit; his nephew, Joshua Nelson; besides other relatives and friends.

 

A Celebration of Life was held for Arthur A. Nelson June 19, 2009, in Port Orchard, WA.  A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at the Northfield Lutheran Cemetery with Reverend John Kaplinski officiating.  Military rites will be conducted by the Northfield American Legion Post 541.

 

Friends may call at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a time of remembrance following the graveside service.
