Squires, Nancy I. (7 May 1925 – 16 April 2009)

Nancy I. Squires, 83, Manawa, passed away at Riverside Medical Center, Waupaca Thursday, April 16, 2009.

She was born May 7, 1925, in Manawa to the late Les and Lillian Lamkins. She graduated from Little Wolf High School in 1942.

She worked at the Manawa Telephone Company as the operator until 1962, when the company converted to dial service. She continued to work as secretary until 1988.

She was a member of the Manawa United Methodist Church and the Mary Circle and a member of the Eastern Star.

She married Robert E. Squires July 7, 1951 in Manawa. He preceded her in death October 25, 2008.

She is survived by three sons, Tom (Karen), Manawa, Brian (Susan) Waupaca, and Jim, Green Bay; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Koeller, Green Bay and Marie (Chris) Squires, Manawa; and many nephews and nieces.

Visitation was held Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home, 176 N. Bridge St. Manawa, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, at the Manawa United Methodist Church, 655 Depot St. Manawa with Reverend Dale Eggert officiating. Friends called at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial was in the Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa.

Memorials may be made to the Manawa United Methodist Church, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Beja Shrine Temple-Green Bay, American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
