Seidl, Retamarie C. “Reta” (6 May 1944 – 13 November 2008)

Retamarie C. “Reta” Seidl, 64, of Sparta and formerly of Black River Falls died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, in the Amery Regional Medical Center while she was staying with her daughter in Clear Lake.

Reta was born in Bangor, ME, May 6, 1944, to Ordell and Olga (Lubow) Copus. She was raised in Jackson County and graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1962.

She attended beautician school in Eau Claire.

She married David Seidl April 18, 1964. The couple lived the majority of their married lives in Black River Falls and they were later divorced.

Reta worked at the former Norplex Plant in Black River Falls. She worked at Northern Engraving in Sparta, and she was the lab manager at the waste-treatment plant in Sparta. She retired in May of 2008.

She was very dedicated to her occupation at the lab. She received the Operator of the Year Award in 2008, and her lab received the Best Small Lab in the State of Wisconsin in 2007.

Reta was an avid collector of wolf information and pictures. She liked to garden, and she loved to send jokes to her family members via the Internet.

Surviving are her son, Eryn (Anja) Seidl, Germany, and her daughter, Tracy (Arthur) Pett, Clear Lake; her sister, Doris (Hugh) Eddy, Nelson; seven grandchildren, Brandi, Jessica, Jayme, Marco, Annabelle, Zachary and Kristina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ronald Gilbertson; and a half brother, Lloyd.

Memorial funeral services for Reta C. Seidl were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 18, 2008, at Torgerson’s Funeral Home (715-284-4321), Black River Falls. Pastor Kathleen Jury conducted the services, and burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Relatives and friends called at Torgerson’s Funeral Home Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
