Wobig, Arthur (12 Nov. 1923 - 16 Jan. 2009)

Arthur Wobig, 85, of Adams died Fri., Jan. 16, 2009, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Mon., Jan. 19, 2009, at Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship. The Rev. Sam Downey will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship.

Arthur was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Milwaukee to Bernhard and Anna Marie (Rieber) Wobig. He worked at Miller Brewery for 33 years before retiring in the late 1970s. He married Marion Ernestine Haversack on July 7, 1951, in Milwaukee.

Arthur was a veteran of World War II, serving as a bugler and interpreter. He was past commander of American Legion Post No. 515 in Milwaukee and member of American Legion Post No. 187 of Wisconsin Dells and American Legion Red Cloud Post No. 250 of Adams.

Survivors include two daughters, Bernice (Pete) Horvatin of New Berlin and Audrey (Mike) Resch of Fond Du Lac; two sisters, Carol (Robert) Spieckerman of Mauston and Kathleen (James) Sommer of Sussex; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Mon. at Roseberry's Funeral Home.

Military rites will be offered at the graveside service by the Adams VFW Post No. 6279; the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post No. 250; and the Grand Marsh American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post No. 273.

Roseberry's Funeral Home is assisting the family.
