Lester H. Wunrow, 86, of Marshfield died Thur., Nov. 13, 2008, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Mon., Nov. 17, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt.

The visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sun. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Mon. at the church.

Lester H. Wunrow, 86, Marshfield, died Thur., Nov. 13, 2008, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Mon., Nov. 17, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt. The Rev. Dean Pingel will officiate and Ashley Genett will be the organist for grandchildren as vocalists. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10162 at the church following the service. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeff Wunrow, Dan Wunrow, Todd Masephol, Tom Masephol, Andrew Ringquist and Kallan Berens. Burial will take place later in the town of Richfield Cemetery.

The visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sun. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Mon. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Mr. Wunrow was born March 11, 1922, in Marshfield to Andrew and Lilli (Duchow) Wunrow. He attended Mill Creek School in the town of Marshfield. As a young man, Les worked on the family farm and at the Marshfield Co-op Feed Mill until he entered the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He married Irene Hartl on Aug. 17, 1946, and they were happily married for 62 years. After their marriage, the Wunrows purchased a farm in the town of Richfield in 1947, where they lived until September of 2003. They then moved to Marshfield.

Les enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors at "the shack in the woods" and horse trail rides. He also enjoyed his family, teasing his grandchildren, and daily telephone converSat.ns with his brother, Mike. He was a life long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt, a founding member of the Auburndale Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and the Hewitt Veterans of Foreign Wars, the former Hewitt Lions Club, and had served on the Shady Nook School Board.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; and their children, Karleen (Jim) Masephol of Phillips, Ken (Caroline) Wunrow of Marshfield, Mary (fiancé Arlen Scheunemann) Wunrow of Arpin, Jim (Kim) Wunrow of Arpin, Donna (Jay) Stuttgen of Vesper, John (Deanna) Wunrow of Arpin, and a daughter-in-law, Linda Wunrow of MArshfield. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, Tom Masephol, Todd (Wendy) Masephol, Tara (Dave) Brinker, Pam (Travis) Hardrath, Jeff (Jean) Wunrow, Lisa Loveland, Beth Wunrow, Kelly (Dale) Aue, Nicole (Stephen) Wunrow-Garvin, Dawn (Eric) Quinlin, Blair Meridith, Kallan Berens, Casandra Berens, Leah Schill, Ashley Schill, Caitlin Stuttgen, Cortni Stuttgen, Jessica Ringquist, Andrew Ringquist, and Dan Wunrow; and 17 great-grandchildren, Samantha (Bruce) Manicke, James Masephol, Sheena Masephol, McKayla Masephol, Tyler Masephol, Austin Brinker, Angela Brinker, Kyler Hardrath, Jordan Bonnar, Grace Wunrow, Robert Scott, Logan Loveland, Chase Wunrow, Brooke Aue, Annamarie Aue, Lydia Garvin and Olivia Garvin; and two great-great-grandchildren, Keiarra Manicke and Kalynn Manicke. He is further survived by a brother, Mike (Adeline) Wunrow of Hewitt.

He was predeceased by his parents; a son, DuWayne; two daughters, Kandes and Renea; and grandchildren, Kursten Wunrow and Samuel Ringquist.
