Binnebose, William, Jr. (11 Jan. 1924 - 9 Oct. 1996)

William Binnebose Jr., 72, of 2830 Gaynor Ave., died Wed.. Oct. 9, 1996, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Madison.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Sat. at Ritchay Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeffrey Lott will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Nekoosa.

Mr. Binnebose was born Jan. 11, 1924, in Wisconsin Rapids to William and Erna (Dorpat) Binnebose. He married Emma Rittenhouse on Feb. 24, 1946, in Atlantic City, N.J. She died April 28, 1994.

He served in the U.S. Army/Air Force from March 1942 until January 1946. During this time, he earned three purple hearts, an air medal, a POW Medal and a Presidential Unit Citation.

He worked for Consolidated Paper Inc., as a pipefitter and also Specialty Systems Inc., as a steamfitter.

He was affiliated with the American Ex-POWs, the Disabled American Veterans and the Purple Heart Society. He was also involved with the Tri-Norse Ski Club.

Survivors include four sons, William III (Jane), La Crosse; Paul (Linda), Nekoosa; Alan (Carmen) and James, both of Wisconsin Rapids; one daughter, Betty Lewis, Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Ann Kegler, Warrens, and Ruth Clemmons, Portage; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, and one grandson (Edward Lewis).

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Sat. at the funeral home.
