Brasier, Marion J. (16 Sept. 1935 - 12 Feb. 2009)

 

Marion J. Brasier, 73, of Marshfield passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family Thur. morning, Feb. 12, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tues., Feb. 17, 2009, at St. John's the Baptist Church, Marshfield. Father Charles D. Stoetzel will officiate. Burial of cremains will be in Gates of Heaven Cemetery

Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mon., Feb 16, 2009, at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) and at the church Tues., Feb. 17, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. until time of the services. A St. John's prayer service will begin at 4 p.m. Mon. at the funeral home.

Marion was born to William and Ruth (Smith) Borofka on Sept. 16, 1935, in Marshfield. She attended St. John's grade school and Columbus High School. She married Gerald W. Brasier on Dec. 31, 1955, who preceded her in death. After raising her family, Marion returned to school and fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Marion was employed at Saint Joseph's Hospital on the cardiac floor until retirement.

Marion was a member of the PCCW, American Legion and volunteered for many charities. She has been a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, family and camping. She was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. But for the past 11 years, her heart was on an island called Isla Mujeres, Mexico.

Marion is lovingly survived by her four children, Cheryl (Jim) Bayer of Raymond, Bill (Tammy) Brasier of Tomahawk, Brian (Esther) Brasier of Appleton and Linda (Randy) Linzmeier of Marshfield. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jackie (Mike), Stephanie, Cody, Greg, Marques, Angela and Max; and great-granddaughters, Rylie, Kyla and Regan.

Marion is further survived by Charles and Audrey Wilson of Menomonee Falls as well as many loving relatives and dear friends from all over the world who will miss her dearly.

The family would like to give special thanks to the oncology and neurology departments of the Marshfield Clinic. Also, special thanks to the Ministry Home Care Hospice program

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Marshfield Clinic Cancer Research or Hope Lodge in Marshfield.
