Hayes, Charles Talbot (10 Dec. 1938 - 18 May 2009)

MILLADORE -- Charles Talbot Hayes, 70, of Milladore, passed away at his home Mon., May 18, 2009.

He was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Rockford, Ill., the son of Charles and Evelyn (Hanes) Hayes. He was raised on the family farm on Route 64 in Kings. He attended Kings Elementary School and Rochelle High School before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He spent many years farming and raising six sons and later drove a truck. Talbot married Birdie M. Peterson on Oct. 19, 2001, and spent his retirement playing golf in Wisconsin and Arizona and spending time with family and friends. Talbot was a father to many and a friend to all.

Survivors include his wife Birdie of Milladore; six children, Daniel Hayes of Venice, Calif., Matthew Hayes of Fairbanks, Alaska, Neil Hayes of Naperville, Ill., Larry Warren of Richland Center, Jerry Warren of Downers Grove, Ill., and Phil Warren of Bloom City; a sister, Marlys Gee of Malvern, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and nephews, Talbot and Scott Gee.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sat. May 23, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle, Ill. Burial will be in White Rock Cemetery in Kings. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fri. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Kings School Foundation.
