Biechler, Mary E. (1 Nov. 1881 - 25 Apr. 1970)

 

A Concelebrated Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Tues. at St. John’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Mary E. Biechler, 88, who died at 7:45 p.m. Sat. at the Marshfield Convalescent Center, where she had resided the past four years.

 

The Rev. Robert A. Brezinski, assistant pastor of St. John’s Church, and the Rev. Joseph J. Bilgrien, assistant pastor of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church at Stevens Point, will officiate. Internment will follow in Gate of Heaven cemetery.

 

Visitations may be made at the Rembs Chapel beginning this afternoon. A combined Rosary-Altar Society and Missionary Society service will be held there at 3:15 p.m. today, followed by the Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m. and the parish vigil at 8 p.m.

 

The former Mary E. Kaholka was born in Manitowoc, Wis., Nov. 1, 1861. She came to Marshfield with her parents at the age of two and received her education here.

 

Her marriage to Wolfgang Biechler took place in 1897 at St. John’s Catholic Church here. He preceded her in death in 1935. After her marriage she resided at the Biechler home at 904 W. Blodgett St. until four years ago, when she entered the Marshfield Convalescent Center.


She was a member of St. John's Church, the Rosary-Altar Society, and the Missionary Society. She also mserved for 20 years as treasurer of the Rosary-Altar Society.


Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Alice) Buttke, Marshfield; two sons, Joseph L. Biechler, Marshfield,; John Biechler, Two Rivers; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Kaholka, Marshfield; John Kaholka, Milwaukee; and four sisters, Mrs. Barbara Denk, Sayner, Wis.; and Mrs, R. E. Wenzel, Miss Ella Kaholka and Miss Sue Kaholka, all of Marshfield.
She was preceded in death by four sons, a brother and a sister.
