Nicholas 'Nick" J. Henrichs, 84, Stetsonville, died on Thursday, April 5 at his home in the Town of Little Black, under the care of his family and hospice.

 

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 10 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerald Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating, and Father Sleeva in absentia.

 

Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in the Town of Little Black, with graveside military rites performed by the Stetsonville American Legion military honors team. Honorary pallbearers were Samantha, Jessica, Casey, Nicole and Sadie Henrichs, Kim Larson and Sheila Dunkel. Active pallbearers were Paul, Austin and Nash Henrichs, Randy Dunkel Jr., Gerry Larson, Josh Brandner and Wes Hebert.


Hemer Funeral Home of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.


Nicholas Henrichs was born on June 30, 1927 in Medford to the late Hubert and Mary (Werner) Henrichs. He attended Mathey School in the Town of Browning. After his education, he farmed and worked at the Medford Co-op, then in 1949 entered the United States Army Air Corps and served for two years.


On June 11, 1952 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville, he married Delores Danen, who survives. He worked as the manager of the Medford Co-op Feed Mill until his retirement in 1991.


He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and past council member, Medford Knights of Columbus, Wil-O-Acres Inc., High Hopes Hunting Lodge, Stetsonville American Legion Club, past board member of the Centennial Community Center in Stetsonville, and past member of the Stetsonville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed carpentry, snowmobiling, hunting, Christmas tree farming, the Willow Lake cabin, and being with family and friends.


In addition to his wife, survivors include four sons, Pat (Judy) and Tom (Renee), both of Stetsonville, Mark (J.J.) of Stevens Point and Gary (Cathy) of Athens; 12 siblings, Imelda Duesing and Norbert (Rose), both of Lac du Flambeau, Loretta Fischer of Stevens Point, Mary Ann Henrichs of Lake Tomahawk, Jim (Mary) of Wausau, Peter (Esther), Rita (Harold) Rudolph, Raymond (Jo) and Harold (Carol), all of Medford; David (Lorraine) of Rhinelander, and twins, Karen (Jim) Bain of Milwaukee and Carol (Al) Beunning of Wausau; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and close family friend, Jim (Lori) Livingston of Medford.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given to the family for future designation.
