Rumberg, Sylvia "Lorraine" (Fryklund) (March 5, 1924 - July 21, 2011)

Sylvia "Lorraine" Rumberg, 87, Ogema, died on Thursday, July 21 at Memorial Health Center in Medford. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 26 at Ogema Baptist Church, with Rev. Rodney Price officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Ogema. Pallbearers were Jeremiah Johnson, Jason Johnson, Brandon Rumberg and Jim Henningfeld.


Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.


The former Sylvia Fryklund was born on March 5, 1924 in Prentice to the late Theodore and Esther (Gustafson) Fryklund. She attended Morner Grade School and Prentice High School.


On February 14, 1948 at First Lutheran Church in Ogema, she married Rudolph Leonard Rumberg, who preceded her in death on April 25, 2010. She lived in Medford for two years, but resided in Ogema for most of her life. She was employed as a nurse's aid for 20 years at the Rib Lake Nursing Home, retiring in 1987.


She was a member of Ogema Baptist Church and past member of its Ladies Aid. She enjoyed music, especially participating in the Ogema Trio Polka Band playing the accordion, playing cards, visiting with family and friends, and her flower garden and plants.


Survivors include three children, Dennis (Renae) of Brantwood, and Kenneth (Dessarae) and Lynn (Kenneth "Swede") Johnson, both of Ogema; a sister-in-law, Effie Fryklund of Medford; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl.
