Elsie V. Zirngible, 87, Medford, died on Sunday, May 29 at Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center in Medford, where she had resided the past 4-1/2 months.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Medford, with Rev. Nancy Amacher officiating, and a 10:45 a.m. VFW Auxiliary service. Burial will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Lynn (Mike) Lindau, Charles "Chip" Ball, and Scott, Eric, Steve, Katy, Alex, Emily and Ray Zirngible.

The former Elsie Krueger was born on April 13, 1924 in Medford to the late Arthur and Olga (Kissman) Krueger. She attended Medford elementary schools and was a graduate of Medford High School.

On August 2, 1947 in Abbotsford, she married Victor "Vic" R. Zirngible, who survives. She worked as a bookkeeper for Rural Electric, now Taylor Electric, in Medford for many years, then in 1960 became part owner of Stetsonville Lumber Company and was the bookkeeper until last year.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Medford VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, flower gardening, shopping, collecting Santa Clauses, watching classic movies and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Craig (Jeanne) and Dale (Ruth), both of Medford; a sister, Carol (Edward "Hink") Spencer of Crandon; a son-in-law, Charles (Jill) Ball of Granbury, Texas; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill (Zirngible) Ball in 2009; a granddaughter, Jessie Jane Zirngible in 1979; five brothers, Les, Dick, Bob, Don and Leslie; and five sisters, Julia Krueger, Elaine Bormann, Wanda Foss, Mary Bracker, and twin sister, Ardis Krueger.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given in her name to St. Paul's Lutheran Church building fund.
