Aebischer, Gloria (1939? - 24 Feb. 1941)

Gloria Aebischer, age 2, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Aebischer, was found dead early Monday morning in the farm yard of her home about three miles southeast of Stetsonville. Death was apparently caused by exposure.

Pending further investigation an inquest will be held in about a week. The mother is being held at the County jail in Medford.

According to reports the parents and child had been visiting taverns Sunday afternoon and retired after having done the chores. The father wakened about 5 a.m. Monday to discover the child was not in bed.

Mr. Aebischer contacted Ted Pillar, Stetsonville, who had brought the family home, Sunday, and they searched the farm. The body of the child was found lying between the pump and the barn.

The father, who is a lawyer and farmer, was arrested on a charge of manslaughter. Bail was set at $5,000; he was released, Tuesday when $5,000 bond was posted.

Mrs. Aebischer, a parolee from a State mental institution, who was being held at the County jail, was arranged on an identical charge. Lacking the $5,000 bond, Mrs. Aebischer remained in jail.

Preliminary examination was set for next Tuesday at 1 P.M. at the city hall, Medford.
