Gengler, Genevieve M. (13 Oct. 1922 – 23 Aug. 1999)

Genevieve M. Gengler, 76, of the Town of Barton, died Monday, August 23, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 27, at Holy Angels Church with Rev. Jerry Repenshek officiating.

Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation at Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, with a Prayer Vigil at 8 p.m.

The former Genevieve M. Higgins was born October 13, 1922, in Medford to the late Sherman and Beulah (Donaldson) Higgins. Her marriage to Eugene J. Gengler took place on October 16, 1943, in Medford.

She and her husband moved to Milwaukee in 1952 and in 1955 they moved to the West Bend area. She enjoyed fishing, flower gardening and bird watching.

Survivors include her husband; three children, Mary (Michael) Maeder and Phillip (Marjorie), both of West Bend, and Michael (Adrianne) of Oconto; seven brothers and sisters, Lorraine (Matt) Gengler, Glenn (Delores) Higgins, Richard (Irene) Higgins, and Roger (Faye) Higgins, all of Medford, Florence (Malen) Warczypowa of Nekoosa, Caroline (Wilford) Butler of Withee, and Marie (Conrad) Nelson of Ogema; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Memorials may be given to Holy Angels School Trust Fund.
