Farkas, Thomas David (December 11, 1954 - April 21, 2009)

Thomas David Farkas, 54, Medford, died Tuesday, April 21 at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 28 at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Medford, with Pastor Kenneth Burisek officiating. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake.

Active pallbearers were Joe Perren, Michael Franz, Gregg Kautzer, Rick Hamm, Donald Cannon and Greg Hofmann. Honorary pallbearer was Jason Franz.

Thomas Farkas was born December 11, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Joseph and Julia (Karaba) Farkas.

He attended Newbury Grade School and graduated from Newbury High School in 1973. He lived in Florida from 1981 to 1983.

On March 31, 1998 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford, he married Rose Ann Appel, who survives. He was employed as a production worker at Black River Industries for over 14 years, from 1992 to 2007, cleaned for a short time at Wadal Plastics and worked briefly at Neillsville Foundry.

He was a member of the Ole' Country Church. He enjoyed watching TV, bowling and participating in the Special Olympics.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a stepdaughter, Crystal of Birnamwood; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James; and a sister, Theresa Farkas.
