Hayton, Beatrice Mathilda (Deml) (November 5, 1920 - June 23 2009)  

 

Goodrich native Beatrice Mathilda Hayton, 88, of Spencer, died Tuesday, June 23.  

 

Funeral services were Friday, June 26 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford with Chaplain Bonnie Moquin officiating.  

 

Internment was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Pallbearers were Davette Hrabak, Lynne Bohn, Jeff Hayton, and Randy Hayton, Jim Asplund, Lloyd Hayton, Tom Drobnik, and John Kucaba. 

 

The former Beatrice Deml was born November 5, 1920 in the Town of Goodrich to the late John and Tillie (Cullen) Deml.  

 

She completed eighth grade in Whittlesey, Wisconsin. At the age of 19, she left Medford and then married John Hayton on December 6, 1941 in Harlingen, Texas. They divorced in 1964.   

 

The family lived in Aurora, Ill. before returning to Wisconsin, where they lived in the Marshfield and Park Falls area, operating the Riverside Tavern, Bea's Northern Bar, and Bea's Bunker Hill. She enjoyed baking, fishing, gardening, finding bargains at garage sales, and going for walks. 

 

She is survived by her daughter, Judith of Phillips; her son, (Debra) of Stratford; and five grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Jake Deml, Marie Knauf, Lucille Albright, Lorraine Reinolt, LeRoy Deml, John Deml, Donald Deml, Ken Deml, and Ray Deml.
