Welte, Edna V. (February 19, 1926 - August 20, 2008)

 

Edna V. Welte, 82, Sheldon, died Monday, Aug. 18 at her home.

 

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheldon, with Pastor Steven Haag officiating. Burial was at Mount Nebo Cemetery in Jump River.

 

The former Edna Monson was born February 19, 1926 in the Town of McKinley to the late Emil and Ellen (Brodeen) Monson. She grew up in the area and attended area rural schools. She became a teacher and taught for many years.

 

On November 23, 1967 in Marshfield, she married Stuart Welte, who preceded her in death in August 2008. They resided in the Town of McKinley where she resumed teaching until her retirement.

 

She enjoyed gardening, her cats, teaching and was very generous to various organizations such as Boystown, North Shore Animal League, American Foundation, Amnesty International and OXFAM.

 

Plombon Funeral Service of Gilman assisted the family with arrangements.
