Johnson, Ruby Minette (June 4, 1915 - September 18, 2008)

 

Ruby Minette Johnson, 93, Medford, died Thursday, Sept. 18 at Memorial Health Center in Medford.

 

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 22 at Ogema Baptist Church with Pastor David Root officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Ogema. Pallbearers were Lloyd Johnson, Stan Engstrom, Kirk Stensurde, Tom Ertl, Tom Raether and John Aderton.

 

Ruby Johnson was born June 4, 1915 in Ogema to the late August and Minnie Johnson.

 

She attended Larkin Graded School and was a 1933 graduate of Prentice High School. She moved to Chicago, Ill., where she was employed as a public librarian. In 1960 she moved to Minneapolis, Minn., and was employed as a secretary for 20 years at the United Church of Christ headquarters, then moved back to Ogema in 1980.

 

She was a member of Ogema Baptist Church. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, cooking and doing yard work.

 

Survivors include a brother, Donald of Florida; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret (Victor) Sylvan, Gertrude (Victor) Engstrom and Gladys Johnson; a brother, Walter (Doris); and a sister-in-law, Ethel Johnson.

 

Memorial contributions in her honor may be given to Ogema Baptist Church.

 

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
