Swanson, Janice Marie (29 JUN 1963)St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield, was the setting for a wedding Saturday, June 29, when Janice Marie Swanson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Swanson, Marshfield, became the bride of Thomas Shannon Wepfer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Wepfer, Loyal.

Rev. Monsignor A. Schuh celebrated the Nuptial High Mass which was sung by the Bishop’s Choristers of La Crosse, directed by Father Constant Chilick, La Crosse.  A bouquet of yellow roses was placed at the Blessed Virgin Alter by the bride following the Mass.

For her wedding the bride chose a gown of silk organza with large floral motifs of Alencon lace appliqués, the bodice styled with three quarter sleeves and a sculptured neckline.  The bouffant skirt which was accented with a butterfly bow in the back, extended into a chapel train.  The fingertip veil of imported silk illusion with hand rolled edge was caught to a pillbox Alencon lace headpiece with seed pearl trim.

Bridal aides included Lois Brockman, Marshfield as maid of honor and Darlene Wolf, Marshfield and Mrs. Allen Quast, Whitewater, a sister of the groom, as bridesmaids.  They wore sheath ballerina length dresses featuring a bouffant overskirt with Alencon lace trim.  Matching headpieces with shoulder veils were worn and each carried a cascading wicker basket of white daisies, yellow sweetheart roses and camellia leaves.

The bride’s mother wore an avocado green lace over avocado taffeta sheath dress.  A peach sheath of chiffon over taffeta with matching hat was worn by the mother of the groom.  Each was presented with a corsage, the bride’s mother with small white mums and the groom’s mother with a cymbidium orchid.

Attending the groom were Tom Lee as best man and Craig Swanson and Kenneth Swanson, brothers of the bride, Marshfield, as groomsmen.  Allen Quast, Whitewater, a brother in law of the groom wa usher along with Kenneth Swanson.

Following the ceremony a luncheon and reception was held at the Hotel Charles.  The new Mrs. Wepfer is a graduate of Columbus High School, Marshfield and St. Agnes School of Nursing, Fond du Lac.  She has been employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Her husband is a graduate of Loyal High School and University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy.  He is employed at Wepfer’s Pharmacy, Loyal.  Following a honeymoon through Wisconsin, the couple will make their home in Loyal.
