Gotter, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand (01 Jan 1912-28 Oct 1961)

Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Gotter, who were married on January 1. 1912, at the Zion Lutheran Church at Granton by Rev. Reiff, celebrated their golden wedding this weekend – the earlier date being selected due to the cold weather during January.

A 5 o’clock dinner was served in their honor Saturday, October 28 at the Trinity Lutheran Church dining hall and was followed by a reception at their home during the evening. A luncheon was also served. The couple received many lovely gifts and greetings.

Mr. and Mrs. Gotter also held an open house Sunday afternoon from 1 until 5 o’clock and it was attended by many friends and relatives.

Mr. Gotter was born on June 23, 1889, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. August Gotter of Granton and he attended parochial schools at Potter and Granton. The former Theresa Lautenbach was born at Granton October 18, 1890, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Lautenbach. She attended school in Granton.

After their marriage the Gotters lived in Pardeeville, Thorp and Stratford. Mr. Gotter was a cheesemaker and made cheese in various places through-out Wisconsin. Since he retired from cheesemaking in December 1943, they have lived in Loyal. Both are in good health and are a members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Their children are Mrs. Harlan (Lobella) Helms of Lindsey and Romaine Gotter of Milwaukee. They also have one grandchild, Danny Gotter of Milwaukee.

Out of town guests attending the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Harlin Helm, Lindsey; Ewald Schlinsog, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lautenbach and children, Mrs. Emma Reisner, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Garbush and children and Mr. & Mrs. Ray Sternitzky, all of Granton.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Pecor, Rhinelander; Mr. and Mrs. Celon Gotter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lautenbach and granddaughters Shelly and Stacy Catlin of Eau Claire & Miss Sophia Loppnow, all of Loyal; Miss Viola Gotter, Mr. and Mrs. Romaine Gotter & son, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Lautenbach, Mr. and Mrs. Reinhart Lautenbach, Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Lautenbach and daughter Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. Al Schuultz, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Boldt, all of Milwaukee.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Christman and L, Christman of Hartford; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Braatz, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Gotter, Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Christman, Renata Skota and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Messing and daughters, all of Marshfield.
