KILLED IN THE WOODS.
Dell Naughtal (Waughtal) of Black River Falls Meets a Mysterious Death.
Black River Falls, Wis., Dec. 14. [Special.]--The body of Dell Naughtal (Waughtal), a young man about 21 years of age, residing in this city (Black River Falls, Wisconsin), was found near the railroad track between this city and Merriilan late yesterday afternoon. The young man left home Saturday to look at some traps he had set in the woods, but did not return. A. search was made and the body was discovered near Wrightsville with a bullet through, the groin. It is believed that young Naughtal (Waughtal) met his death at the hands of an unknown person, as his gun was found standing against a tree a short distance from where he lay. It is evident that he was on his hands and knees looking into a fox's burrow when he received the fatal shot. He undoubtedly was taken for some wild animal by the person who fired the shot. The ball entered his groin through the right thigh.
An inquest will be held today and a strong effort will be made by the authorities to find out who the careless hunter was.
