Kosmosky, Agnes (1 January 1880 - 9 December 1967)

Mrs. Agnes Kosmosky, 87, of Neillsville died Saturday at the home of her son in the Town of Washburn. Funeral services were held Tuesday from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. George M. Nelson officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Kosmosky, the former Agnes Drabinsky, was born January 1, 1880, in Posen, Germany. She came to the United States at the age of 14 and located in Milwaukee, where she worked as a young girl.

On February 16, 1898, she was married to Martin Kosmosky in Milwaukee. Mr. Kosmosky died in 1943. Following their marriage they farmed for several years in Milwaukee. In 1907, they came to Clark County and farmed in the Town of Washburn. Mrs. Kosmosky had been a Clark County resident for 60 years.

Following the death of her husband, she remained on the farm for a few years, later moving to Neillsville. For the last few months she lived with her son in the Town of Washburn.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and an honorary member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women. A rosary service was said Monday evening at the Georgas Funeral Home.

She is survived by five children: Mrs. Anna Cole and Mrs. Arthur (Mary) Carl, both of Neillsville; John Kosmosky of Eau Claire; Stanley and Stephen, both of rural Neillsville. Other survivors include 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Ernest Kuhn, Clarence Reinart, George L. Gorbet, Steve Zitek, Herbert Mildebrath and William Matuszak.

People from out-of-town here for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Kosmosky and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Dremel of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goetzka, Sr., and Mrs. Frank Goetzka, Jr., of Warrens; Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Roesler of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Riley and Mr. and Mrs. William Cannor of Chippewa Falls; Frank Lesar of Willard; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Plemon of St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Browner of Black River Falls and Mrs. Elroy Schiller of Pittsville.
