Winchell, Joel W. (30 NOV 1883 - 28 SEP 1963)

Funeral services for Joel William Winchell, 79, of Dorchester, who died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, Sept. 28, 1963, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church, Dorchester, with the Rev. L.L. McCormick officiating.

Burial took place in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Hearld Winchell and Max Wilke, Dorchester, Frank Hunt, Colby, Ernest Beyreis and Albert Kayhart, Spencer, and Charles Hinke, Abbotsford.

Arrangements were by the Maurina Funeral Home, Dorchester.

Joel Winchell was born Nov. 30, 1883 in the town of Mayville (Clark Co., Wis.). His marriage to the former Marie Tischendorf took place at Dorchester Sept. 9, 1909, at the Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church. The couple farmed in the town of Mayville for 43 years, and then moved to Dorchester. He worked for Western Condensing Co. and for eight years was employed by Skerbeck Rides.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George (Margaret) Johnson of Chicago and Mrs. Melvin (Irene) Atzen of Abbotsford; two sister; nine grandchildren and eight great-granchildren.
