Siggelkow, Charles W. (4 MAY 1903 - 7 JUN 2002)


Charles W. Siggelkow, 99, Withee, Clark County, died June 7, 2002, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, where he had resided the last nine months.

Funeral services were on Monday, June 10, 2002, at the Community Alliance Church in Withee. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Edmond Rohland, John Siggelkow, John Spilker, Wayne Thompson, Craig Siggelkow, and Dave Kiedrowski.

Charles Wesley Siggelkow was born on May 4, 1903, in Baraboo, Sauk County, the son of Charles and Estella (Colburn) Siggelkow. He was a 1921 graduate of Withee High School. Charles and Hazel Thompson were united in marriage on March 18, 1933. They farmed in the Town of Hixon until 1962. While residing on the farm, Charles was employed with the former Fredrick Post Company of Owen until 1968. He also was an interior and exterior painter and wallpaperer. He was a member of the Community Alliance Church, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.


Surviving are his loving children: Daughter Beatrice (Emil) Presti of Gleabeulah sons: John (Nancy) Siggelkow of Bluefield, West Va., Robert (Alice) Sigglekow of O'Fallon, Mo., Donald (Diana) Siggelkow of Milwaukee 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife Hazel Siggelkow, Feb. 10, 1971, one son, Charles Jr., Nov. 20, 1996, great-grandson, Jason Russell, June 29, 2001 and three sisters, Ruth, Florence and Mary Louise.

Maurina Funeral Home of Owen assisted the family with arrangements.
