Died, at his residence in the town of Eaton, Clark County, Oct. 3, 1883, James Christie, aged 43 years.

Deceased was born in South Shenango, Crawford County, Pa., May 18, 1840. He was married to Jane Bostwick in LaCrosse, Oct. 4, 1861, whom he leaves with four children, the youngest four years of age. About a year ago he returned from Dakota where he contemplated settling, leaving his family there while he settled up his business here, but was soon after afflicted with Bright's disease of the kidneys, which caused his death. He was very energetic and thorough in his business, and had accumulated considerable property. His family returned but recently from Dakota.
