Vetterkind, Holley E. (2 JUL 1929 - 27 NOV 2001)


Holley E. Vetterkind, 72, town of Warner, Greenwood, Clark County, died on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at 11 a.m., at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. The Rev. Al Jakubowski officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee, with full military rites by the Greenwood American Legion Post 238. Pallbearers were Mike Vetterkind, Dan Vetterkind, David Vetterkind, Luke Vetterkind, Elmer Noah, Jason Noah and Eric Turner.

Holley Ernest Vetterkind was born on July 2, 1929, in the town of Hixon, Withee, to William and Viola (nee Collier) Vetterkind. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953, with military duty in Japan and Korea. He married Frances Truse on April 12, 1954, at St. Hedwig's Chapel, Thorp. He was employed at Plautz Bros./Pekol, Willard, for 39 years, in heavy construction. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Post 238.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Vetterkind four sons, Michael (Carla) Vetterkind, Greenwood, Patrick (Betty) Vetterkind, Willard, David Vetterkind, Home, Alaska, and Daniel Vetterkind, Greenwood one sister, Evelyn Seliskar, Greenwood one brother, Ernie Vetterkind, Withee and seven grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents one daughter, Susan Frances Armbrust, on Nov. 28, 1996 one brother, William Vetterkind Jr. and one sister, Alice Henke.

Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, assisted the family with arrangements.
