Erickson, Marvin (13 NOV 1917 - 8 JUL 1985)


Marvin Erickson, 67, Rt. 1, Unity, Town of Beaver, Clark County, passed away Monday, July 8, 1985, D.O.A. at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

Services were Friday, July 12, 1985 at 2 p.m. at the Rinka Funeral Home. Burial was in the Beaver Cemetery. Rev. David Ault of Spencer Trinity Lutheran Church officiated. Pallbearers were Theodore Zvolena, Harlan Prestien, Glen Stowe, Leland Herbert, Rex Penny, and Don Hetchler.

He was born Nov. 13, 1917 in Dows, Iowa. He received his education in Iowa schools. He married Mary Fitz, Dec. 22, 1943 at Iowa. He served in the armed forces at Camp Dodge, Iowa during World War II from Oct. 31, 1942 until his discharge June 12, 1943. He farmed all his life, first in Iowa until 1959, when he moved to the town of Beaver.

He was a member of the Unity American Legion.

He is survived by his wife one son, Dennis, Unity three daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Linda) Heck, Greenwood Mrs. Donald (Kathryn) Friday, Curtiss, Mrs. Marilyn Setzer, Neillsville one brother, LaVerne Baxter, Los Angeles Calif. two sister, Mrs. Louis (Ila) Tanner, Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. Steve (Myrna) Clark, Clear Lake, Iowa seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lucinda (nee Bauge), two sisters and two brothers.

Full military rites were conducted by the Unity Legionnaires.
