Elpert, Walter (7 AUG 1918 - 5 FEB 2002)


Walter L.Elpert, 83, Loyal, died on Tuesday, Feb.5, 2002, in the emergency room at Saint Joseph 's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday,Feb.8,at Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial was in St. Anthony 's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen Miller, Darrel Elpert, Dale Goodwin, John Goodwin, Jerry Mattison and Paul Kauffman.

Walter Leo Elpert was born on Aug.7,1918,in Medford, to John and Mary (nee Tieskretter) Elpert. He was raised and educated in the Medford area, and moved to Loyal in 1944.He farmed all his life in the Loyal area with his brothers, Joe and Frank. His interests included mechanics, building farm wagons, horses and playing cards.


Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents four brothers, Arnold "Barney " Elpert, Ewald "Ozzie "Elpert, Francis "Frank "Elpert, and Joseph Elpert and two sisters, Erma Anderson and Ida Goodwin.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
