Farnsworth, Erwin J. (1904 - 1983)


Services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 22, 1983, at the United Methodist Church, Granton, for Erwin Farnsworth, 78, who died suddenly at his home early Wednesday morning, April 20, 1983.

The Rev. Charles Sanford officiated at the service. Soloist was Donna Chase, accompanied by Charlotte Drescher on the organ. Burial was in the Windfall Cemetery.

Erwin Farnsworth was born on Oct. 31, 1904, in Dodge County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelmina Wobig Farnsworth. He moved to the Spencer area in 1919, and married Lelah Stone on Aug. 20, 1930.

They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Aug. 24, 1980.
After their marriage, they farmed in the Town of Fremont, Clark County for 40 years. He also worked for Rollohome Corp. of Marshfield, retiring in 1970, when they moved to Granton, where they have resided for nearly 13 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and a charter member of Fremont Grange.

Surviving him are his wife, Lelah two sons, Darryl of Marshfield and Darwyn of Wausau four grandchildren two great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Radke, Waverly, Iowa.

Serving as pallbearers were Marvin Burkhalter, Bob Luchterhand, Howard Schultz, Joe Arbelovsky, Don Lindow and Marvin Schmoll. Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, handled arrangements.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
