Tobin, Clara (1892 - 1982)


Mrs. Clara Tobin, 89, Route 3, Greenwood, Town of Warner, Clark County, died Saturday evening, Aug. 14, 1982, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17, at St. Mary's catholic Church, Greenwood. Officiating was Rev. Michael Mertens. Interment was in the parish cemetery, with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

An 8 p.m. Prayer Service was conducted on Monday evening.

Clara Markwardt was born to William and Catherine (nee Schill) Markwardt on Nov. 13, 1892, at Mineral Point. She received her education at Mineral Point rural schools.

On June 28, 1923, she and Frank H. Wilson were married. He died in 1952. In 1958, she married Michael Tobin he died in 1964.

She farmed all her life in the Town of Weston, until the last few years when she made her home with her daughter.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Ann's Society.

Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Ferdinand (Cecelia) Langreck of Greenwood, Mrs. Floyd (Hilda) Richmond of Royalton, Minn. and Mrs. Donald (Catherine) Wieting of Menomonee Falls two sons, Charles Wilson of Moweaqua, Ill. and John Wilson of Leadville, Col. 39 grandchildren 8 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husbands were her parents two sisters two brothers two daughters one son three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Rinka Funeral Home handled arrangements.
