J. BOULAIS, of the firm of J. Boulais Co., general merchandise, Dorchester. Born in Lower Canada, Sept. 22, 1846. In 1867, moved to Janesville, Rock Co., Wis., and went to shoemaking. Still following his trade, he traveled to Nevada, and on to California, coming east and locating in Dorchester, in 1877. Opened a shoe shop, and then the store he operates in partnership with H. LaRossier. IN 1865, he married Miss Philisty Moller, of Fond du Lac, Wis. They have four children Joseph, George H., Charlie O. D. and Edward H. Mr. B. had held office as Town Treasurer, and is a member of the the Catholic Church.
