Feind, Darlene E. (31 AUG 1963)

St. Mary's Catholic Church at Colby was the site of the wedding of Darlene Elizabeth Feind and Dennis Wesley Frome on Saturday, Aug. 31, 1963.

The Rev. John B. Pinion heard the exchange of vows and sang the nuptial high mass at the 10 a.m. ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Feind and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Frome of Colby are the parents of the couple.

Mrs. Dennis Feind of Abbotsford, a sister-in-law of the bride, was the matron of honor, and her bridesmaids were Mrs. Donald Runke, Milwaukee, a sister of the bride, and Mrs. Robert Hanson of Colby.

Sharon and Michael Groshek of Milwaukee, a niece and nephew of the bride, were flower girl and ring bearer.

The best man was Dennis Feind of Abbotsford, a brother of the bride, and groomsmen were David Feind, Milwaukee, a brother of the bride, and Wayne Frome, Colby, a brother of the groom.

Ushers were Francis Beyerl and Gerald Schulz.

The bride chose a floor length gown of nose(?) lace over satin featuring a basque bodice with square Sabrina neckline trimmed with iridescent sequins and pearls. The long sleeves came to a point over the hands. A full skirt was topped by a lace pickup featuring lace roses on the front, sides and back, which was underlayed by alternate layers of tulle and lace, ending in a ruffle at the bottom. A fingertip French illusion veil was held in place by a crown of pearls and crystal.

Each of the bridal attendants wore a sleeveless street length formal of mint green silk organza over taffeta, featuring a side draped bodice with rose brim, and a bateau neckline. The fully gathered skirts were completed by deep hems. Matching crowns with crystal trim and lace veils completed the ensembles.

The little flower girl wore a white floor length dress of lace tieres over taffeta and carried a basket of white, pink and yellow daisy pomps, secured by a white ribbon.

The bride's flowers centered around a white removable orchid, surrounded by lily of the valley and small deep pink garnette roses extending into the streamers.

The bridal attendants carried bouquets of yellow carnations with pink satin streamers.

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Feind wore a green dress with brown accessories, and the groom's mother wore a beige dress with red accessories. Both had corsages of yellow roses with pink carnations.

Baskets of gladioli adorned the altars of the church.

A dinner was served to the immediate families at the home of the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Frank Beyerl of Colby, followed by a reception at St. Mary's school gymnasium.

Following a wedding trip to Canada, the couple will make their home a 8853 N. 23rd St. in Milwaukee.

The groom is employed at Pelton Steel at Milwaukee and the bride at Cutler-Hammer, also in Milwaukee. Both are 1961 graduates of the Colby High School.

Guests from out of town came from Milwaukee, Westboro, Brodhead, Edgar, Appleton, Curtiss, Milan, Sheboygan, Stetsonville, Marshfield, Geneva, Ill., Skokie, Ill., Des Plaines, Ill., Silver Bay, Minn., and Colby and Abbotsford.
