The Abbotsford High School classes of 1971 and 1972 had a combined class reunion to celebrate their 40th and 41st reunion on Saturday, September 29th.

The reunion began with the homecoming football game against Wausau Newman. The Abby Falcons won with a score of 48-22.

Saturday was a beautiful day for the reunion at Red Arrow Park. After socializing, teams were composed for two digital scavenger hunts throughout Abbotsford. Winning teams for the first scavenger hunt were Lois Deming (captain), Mary Kunze, Mike and Naomi Sebold, Dan and Robyn Kiefer. The winners for the second scavenger hunt were Randy Grambort (captain), Mike Sebold, John Borgemoen and Diane Marzinske, Dawn (Greaser) Genrich and Suzy Kelsey. Winners received lottery tickets as prizes.

A catered meal followed, Mike Sebold was “nominated” again to be the emcee, and he didn’t fail to amaze and amuse attendees with his quick wit. He read through the class booklets and entertained everyone with quotes and statements from classmates.

A moment of silence was held for deceased classmates; Bruce Butor, Mike Hansen, Patti (Ingersoll) Klein, Chuck Jakes, Dave Miller, Diane (Ogurek) Newburn and Steve Watson from the class of 1972 and Jim Schuette, Paula Seefluth, Joan (Schreiber) Knecht and Larry Kalepp from the class of 1971.

The fire pit was the finale of the memorable evening. Stories were shared, beverages were consumed and the flames and laughter finally died out in the early hours of the morning.
