Nelson, Marian D. (27 MAR 1917 - 1 DEC 2012)

Marian D. Nelson, age 95, of Owen, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Marian was born March 27, 1917 to Andrew and Hilda (Lindblum) Asp in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She attended Marshfield Schools and worked a short time as a waitress, before her marriage to Reynold Nelson on May 30, 1946. Marian was a housewife most of her life.

She enjoyed crocheting in her younger years, cooking, baking, canning, camping and feeding everybody. Marian looked forward to going up to the deer camp for Thanksgiving every year.

Marian is survived by her children; Tom (Geri Moore) Nelson of Owen, Betty (Jerry) Prepeluh of Owen and Charles (Rita Koplitz) Nelson of Withee. 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 7 step-great grandchildren and 5 step great-great grandchildren.

Marian is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, twin sister; Margaret Asp, brothers and sisters; Art Asp, Bob Asp, Helen Allen, Arvilla De Jarlais, Esther Rhodes and Emma Weber.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Reverend Mark Schwinn will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Pallbearers will be Rob Nelson, Rick Nelson, Bill Nelson, Mike Prepeluh, Dan Prepeluh and Jeff Rasmussen.
