Washburn Center (11 MAR 1915)

The old people’s jolly band sprung a surprise on M.C. Thomas and wife Saturday evening and judging from the hour of their departure they had a jolly good time.

Everyone has a cold.

M.C. Thomas, Theo, Kissling, Rudolph Frantz and Otto Schroeder met at J.A. Short’s Thursday evening to settle some silo business.

Otto Schroeder and family spent Sunday afternoon at George Cramer’s.

Andrew Short and wife spent Sunday evening at John VanFleet’s.

Quite a few attended church Sunday. Let everyone attend these services.

The box supper and program last Wednesday night was a success, only there were more men than boxes. Some of those bashful boys ought to go without a box a few times, then maybe they could find a lady to take the next time.

J.A. Short was out collecting the tax Thursday and Monday.

Pete Hohenstein is the owner of a new team of horses.

Jesse Wilding and Andrew Short attended the auction at Mrs. Apfel’s Monday.
