Mrs. Tom Gibson of Chili was here on business, Tuesday.

Ernest Crevecour was at Marshfield on business on Saturday.

W.H. Edens was a county seat visitor on Tuesday.

James Scoles moved to Neillsville on Monday.

Geo. Beaver was a county seat visitor on Friday.

Mrs. Chas. Greeler spent Tuesday with friends at Marshfield.

Leo Peterson was a Marshfield visitor on Friday.

Theodore Breseman was a county seat visitor on Wednesday.

Oscar Schier left for Dover, Minn. on Wednesday.

Mrs. Homer King is home from Beach, N.D. since last week Wednesday.

Mrs. Gus Hagen visited her parents at Neillsville late last week.

Ed Riedel and family of Neillsville spent the weekend here with Miss Anna Hankey.

Mrs. Clara Fricke of Neillsville visited Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dixon on Saturday.

Miss Mathilda Strey returned to her work at Milwaukee a week ago Saturday.

Mrs. Lem Curtiss and sons Jay and Basil went to Richland Center on Monday.

Mrs. Fairweather of Milwaukee visited Dr. and Mrs. H.L. Rose the first of the week.

W.B. Wentworth of Edgerton is here since Thursday visiting his son Rush.

Mrs. Margaret Hubing of Athens is visiting her daughter Mrs. Geo. Beaver here since Wednesday.

Crandall's orchestra will give one of their good time dances here tomorrow, Saturday night.

Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Rose autoed to Thorp and made an over Sunday visit at Chas. Reed's.

Fred Pizer and son Gordon went to Richland Center Monday on a visit to relatives.

Mrs. Ed Montgomery of Neillsville spent Tuesday here with her daughter, Mrs. Orren Hickox.

Miss Mary Scholtz of Veefkind took Saturday's noon train here for Camp Douglas on a visit to friends.

The Misses Cobe and Mary Scholtz and Esther Welsh autoed down from Veefkind Saturday and visited friends.

Mrs. Chas. Hayden spent Thursday with her daughter Mrs. Chas. Cross at Chili.

Mrs. John Bladl and children, with her mother Mrs. Martin spent Thursday with relatives at Chili.

Miss Cora Dietrich of Sheboygan Co., after a visit at Orren Montgomery's and at Sam Adams in York, went home yesterday.

Wm. Storm and family autoed to Globe and spent Sunday with relatives in the Robert Manthei family.

Miss Ruth Vandeberg, a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, is reported as doing nicely.

Mrs. Robert Kurth of Neillsville visited friends here Thursday.

Leo Peterson left for the sate University at Madison Tuesday to resume his studies there.

Walter Miner of Richland County is here since Monday visiting the Fred Pizer family on Route 1.

Mrs. G.W. Squires of Madison is here since Monday visiting her sister Mrs. Lue Smith on Route 1.

Mrs. Mary Patno is home from a two month pleasure trip and visit at Los Angeles, Calif., since Saturday.

Mrs. James Johnson of Route 4, was advised by telegram Monday that her father had died at his home in Appleton on Sunday, Sept. 23rd.

Fred Kier is quite under the weather and taking a forced vacation since last week.

Mrs. H.B. Kelsey and baby are here from Iron Mountain, Mich., visiting at Ed Delassies' since Wednesday.

Mrs. Wm. Hintz of Adell returned from Withee Wednesday evening, since which time she is visiting at H. Garbush's.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Battalia, Elsie and Will Battalia of Tunnel Ciety autoed here and visited her brother Fred Grassman and family from Sunday until Tuesday, when they left for Ashland.

Henry Seltrecht, after a several months visit with home folk and helping his dad with farm work, returned to Milwaukee, Wednesday.

Elden Bender left for Dunn Center, N.D. Thursday, expecting to take up residence there. His father H.L. Bender accompanied him as far as the Twin Cities in Minnesota.

Mrs. Wm. Hintz of Adell left here Tuesday morning on a several days visit to her son Walter Hintz at Withee.

Mrs. Chas. Brooks went to Neillsville Saturday on a visit to Mrs. Geo. E. Crothers.

Mrs. Wm. Goeden of Neillsville spent Tuesday here with Mrs. Geo. Beaver.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomson and their two children went to Birnamwood Friday.

Rev. and Mrs. Alpers, who were visiting at Rev. Reiff's went home to Appleton on Saturday.

Chas. Haltaufderheide returned home from Portland, N.D. late last week.

Hon. W.L. Smith autoed over from Neillsville on business bent on Monday.

Potato digging engaged the time and attention of many Grantonites this week.

Miss Gertrude Kimball came over from Marshfield and spent Sunday with the W.S. Davis family.

Miss Helen Sparks of Route 4 is attending the teachers training school at Grand Rapids this year.

Mrs. S.G. Schwarz autoed over from Humbird Tuesday for a visit among old friends.

Mrs. Gerzemehle and daughter Amanda were Neillsville visitors on Wednesday.

Gustave Marg and his sister Mrs. Gerzemehle spent Tuesday at Arnold Drescher's in South Grant attending the barn raising there that day.

Miss Mollie Larson of Route 4, after a week's visit with home folk, returned to Minneapolis Wednesday.

Edwin Haltaufderheide of this village and Joseph Krostag of Marshfield came home from Portland, N.D. last Friday.

Mrs. A. Lombard, who was alarmingly ill late last week, is reported to be much improved at this writing, and well on the road to recovery.

Mrs. Henry Braatz will entertain the Ladies Aid of Rev. Reiff's parish next Wednesday, Oct. 3rd.

Wm. Crosby bought more village real estate last week, a good sized lot adjoining him, from Levy Morris.

Mrs. Louis Cornelius, after a visit here, at Neillsville and Chili, left on the home trip to Sheboygan Co. on Saturday.

Robert Petznick, the new owner of the Pleasant Ridge Factory, is in charge of same since last week.

Albert Riedel of Granton, Route 2 is expected to respond to the draft call to the National Army next Wednesday, Oct. 3.

A basket social will be held at the Granton High School building tonight, Friday, Sept. 28. The program committee has arranged a special entertainment which will be given before the baskets are sold. This is free. Program starts at 8:15 p.m.

Mrs. Geo. Crow, who was taken suddenly and alarmingly ill Wednesday, was removed to St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield where a most critical operation was performed in the hope of saving her life. Word reaches us this Thursday morning that she is recovering nicely and is the mother of a fine new baby boy. Rev. Crow is home since Thursday noon.

Mrs. J. Oosterhaus and daughter Hazel of Plymouth came Saturday for a visit with relatives in the H.T. Lawson family.

Chas. Chapel of Marshfield autoed over last Friday and called on friends. This office acknowledges a pleasant call.

Mr. and Mrs. Munce Eibergen of Chili were Granton callers Monday that Mrs. Eibergen might have dental work done. She is recovering nicely from her recent automobile accident.

Mrs. Fred Cole entertained the Circle on Wednesday.

Dance at the opera house tomorrow, Saturday night. Crandall's orchestra will furnish the music. Everybody is invited.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Viergutz of Route 3 and Mr. and Mrs. Will Sanger and children of Route 2 autoed over to Reinhold Viergutz's, near Marshfield, and spent Sunday.

Mrs. Gay Eilers, her daughters Helene and Myrtle, and little son Edward are here from Chicago visint her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ackerman of Route 1, since Wednesday.

Mrs. Richard Anding and little son Verland are here from Altoona on a visit to her parents Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Breseman since Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Bremser and son Walter of Oconomowoc arrived here last Friday and are since visiting the John Vogeli and Chris Feutz families on Route 4.

The Misses Bertha and Ardena Helm came home last Friday from a several weeks visit with relatives at Forest Junction.

Mrs. McCredden and Floyd Rath of Cataract, visited their brother Dr. Father here on Monday. Floyd is a sergeant in the medical corps and left for Waco, Texas on Wednesday.

Mrs. Bert Hayden and daughter Glyde Graves were at Marshfield Friday to consult Dr. Hipke in regard to the latter's eyes.

Mr. and Mrs. Maes and baby Earl, after a visit with the Clemens, Oscar and Reinhold Kuechenmeister families, went home to Rib Lake last Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Beaty, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Schwegard, all of Richland County, came Saturday and visited at Howard Beaty's until Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hart, their daughters Lenore and Irene and sons Kenneth, Ross and Wayne autoed to Humbird and visited relatives Sunday. Mrs. Silas Delano of that village accompanied them home that evening.

Mrs. Wm. Storm is at Globe since Tuesday assisting in the care of her aged father Herman Hoffman, who suffered a paralytic stroke in his home there a few weeks ago.
