Ostrowski, Joseph J. (5 March 1891 - 9 September 1967)

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from Martyr Chapel in Spaulding for Joseph H. Ostrowski, 76, of Pray, who died at his home Saturday. The Rev. Peter A. Eiden officiated, with military rites at the cemetery being done by members of Palmer-Richey Post, No. 153, American Legion of Pittsville. Burial was made in the Martyr Cemetery in Spaulding.

Mr. Ostrowski was born March 5, 1891, in Chicago, Ill. He was educated there and on May 2, 1918, he entered the army, receiving his discharge from service on July 25, 1919. He then came to City Point area where he was engaged in farming. For many years he was also an employee of the Green Bay and Western railway and the Wisconsin conservation department.

He served for several terms as a school board member and also served as town assessor. He retired in 1966. On October 17, 1931, he was married to the former Mildred Jamres in Jackson County.

He is survived by his wife; three children, Joe and Frances Ostrowski of Miami, Fla., and Raymond Ostrowski of Des Plaines, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Joe (Verna) Suchor of McHenry, Ill.; two brothers, Frank of Cicero, Ill., and Robert of City Point; and four grandchildren.

A rosary service was said Monday evening at the Georgas Funeral Home.

Mr. Ostrowski was a member of Martyr Chapel & Palmer-Richey Post, No. 153, American Legion Pittsville.

Pallbearers were: Paul Reshel, Lee Hanutke, Vern Hopkins, Robert Ostrowski, Frank Jagiele and Martin Zilka.

Military services were conducted by the Palmer-Richey Post No. 153, American Legion, of Pittsville.

People from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ostrowski, Miami, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ostrowski, Des Plaines, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Suchor, McHenry, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ostrowski, Cicero, Ill.; Mrs. Andrew Charnota and son, Rolling Meadows, Ill.; Mrs. Frances Ostrowski, Rolling Meadows, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. John Ostrowski, Cicero, Ill.; Robert Hanlic, Wm. Hanlic, Fritz Bowman, Orville Bowman, Joe Goeden, Madison, Wis.
