----- Shober, Karen M. (28 DEC 1961)

At home at Capital Motel, 2104 State East, Olympia, Wash., are Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Treutel, who were married Thursday, Dec. 28, 1961 in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. The bride is the former Karen Marie Shober, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Shober of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), and her husband, Marvin George Treutel of Fort Lewis, Wash. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Treutel of Rozellville.

Rev. Norbert E. King officiated at the double ring ceremony, while the church choir, which is under the direction of Sister Vera Marie, sang the Nuptial High Mass.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride chose a gown of white satin extending into a train trimmed with lace. The bodice featured a scoop neckline and the long sleeves came to a point at the wrist. Her veil fell from a crown of crystals and she carried red roses.

Attending the bride were Mrs. Jim Kress, the groom’s sister of Marshfield as matron of honor, and Sandra Shober, the bride’s sister, and Kathryn Walter as bridesmaids. They were seen in identical gowns of red velvet in a street-length with scoop necklines and each held poinsettias on a white fur muff. A white fur hat completed their ensemble. Candice Rose Shober, the bride’s sister, dressed also in a red velvet dress with fur muff and hat, carried the bride’s train.

Mrs. Shober saw her daughter’s wedding in a navy blue dress with beige accessories and she wore a red rose corsage. A powder blue dress with black accessories was worn by the groom’s mother and she also was presented with a corsage of red roses.

Jim Kress of Marshfield was best man and groomsmen were John Schwellenbach of Loyal and Delmaine Schwellenbach of Neillsville, a cousin of the bride. Ushering duties were performed by Lawrence Domine, Jr., Loyal, a cousin of the bride, and David Treutel, a cousin of the groom.

Following the ceremony a brunch was served at the home of the bride’s parents, and a reception was held in the afternoon at Braun’s Bowling Alley. A supper was served to 2000 guests at the dining hall and a wedding dance was held at Rozellville.

The bride is a 1959 graduate of Loyal High School and has been employed at Citizen’s National Bank in Marshfield. Her husband, who is a 1958 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School, is presently stationed with the 32nd Division at Fort Lewis, Wash. The couple left this weekend for Washington.

Out of town guests came from Marshfield, Neillsville, Milwaukee, Thiensville and Stratford.
