Depa, Mark (19 APR 1886 - 2 NOV 1963)

Mark Depa, 77, a retired farmer, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 1963 at the Stanley Hospital where he had been since Oct. 3, when he suffered a heart attack.

Mr. Depa was born on April 19, 1886 in Poland. He came to this country as a young man. In 1913 he married Louise Wincek at St. Mary’s Church in Stanley. She died in 1925. In 1930 he married Sophie Duthiewicz, who preceded him in death in 1951. He married his present wife in 1952.

Funeral services were held in St. Mary’s Church in Lublin on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 10 a.m., with Father Matla officiating, and burial was in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert Novak, Emil Trubac, Emong Starks, Stanley Matusek, Stanley Blaszczyk and Joseph Wincek Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Petronela, two sons, Edward of Thorp and Victor of Chicago; four daughters, (Jean) Mrs. Louis Kula of Chicago; (Sophie) Mrs. Stanley Kaszubowski of Thorp; (Tillie) Mrs. Henry Filipiak and (Vickie) Mrs. Joseph Placzek, both of Chicago; one stepson, Tony Duthiewicz; two step-daughters, (Frances) Mrs. Ted Kator; (Anna) Mrs. Steve Bacik, all of Chicago; two sister, Mrs. Peter Mazior and Mrs. Katherine, Monikolaicik, both of Chicago; 21 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. One brother, Paul, preceded him in death.

Relatives and friends attending the funeral were from Chicago, Ill., Detroit, Mich., Stanley and Thorp.
