The scent of new mowed hay is everywhere at present.

Connor Lumber Co. has carpenters at work now putting up the lumber sheds.

The masons are putting up the wall for the schoolhouse.

An attempt was made Friday night to wreck the limited. The east end switch was opened, the light turned out and sand put in the lantern and the switch rod was and old one; when the limited passed through it had force enough to bend the rod and push the rail back in place, and that way prevented a terrible accident. There doesn’t seem to be any clue to the malefactor. The lock was gone and could not be found. Detectives are on the field and perhaps will find the person or persons responsible for that deed.

Fred Polz has masons at work on the wall of his cellar. Meanwhile he is busy making garden, killing potato bugs and doing other little errands.

Mr. Rabenstein and Judge Schoengarth went through here per automobile Monday.

Abel Harding and son Chester left for Poplar, Mont. on a prospecting trip on Monday.

Mrs. W.P. Phillips and baby Wayland went to Granton Saturday on a several days visit to the Herman Bealer family.

Mr. and Mrs. N.E. Lee drove to Marshfield Tuesday and spent the afternoon with friends.
