Swieso, Walter (09 Dec 1891-31 Sept 1960)

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Walter G. Swieso in the Greenwood Grace Methodist Church. He died of a heart ailment Thursday night. The Rev. Gene Carlson officiated and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Mr. Swieso was born in Columbus, Wis. December 9, 1891 and when he was twelve years old his family moved to a farm northwest of Loyal. He received his education in schools of Columbus and Clark County. On October 25, 1917 he married to the former Effie White and they lived on the home farm for several years. They then moved to a farm in rural Greenwood until 1942 when they moved into the city of Greenwood where he was employed by the Greenwood Cooperative before suffering a heart attack in 1958.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Ila Rae) Thiede, Granton and Mrs. William (Lola Mae) Pfeifer, Milwaukee; two sons, Vernard, Burlington, and Wilbert, Fresno, California and 12 grandchildren. Two brothers and 10 sisters preceded him in death.

Those from Loyal who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. James Colby, Mr. and Mrs. James White, Mr. and Mrs. Herb White, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Swieso and Evelyn Swieso.
