Heiting, Theodore (15 MAY 1872 - 1 DEC 1962)

Theodore Heiting, a resident of Stanley, died at the Zastrow Nursing Home in Gilman at 10:57 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1st, 1962. He had been at the rest home since April, and had reached the age of 90 years, 6 months and 16 days.

Mr. Heiting was born May 15, 1872 in Dundas, Wis., the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Heiting. He was married to Anne Lensin in Dundas in 1895, and moved to Stanley where eh started the Stanley Woodenware Co., operating that until his retirement in 1937. His wife died in 1929, and he later married Mrs. Anna Rademacher of Stanley. She preceded him in death Jan. 13, 1962.

Mr. Heiting was a member of the Holy Name Society, and for over 50 years a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Surviving are three sons: John of Sheldon, Wilfred of Hudson, Harold of Milwaukee; four daughters, Mrs. Catherine Volk of Stanley; Sister M. Dolorita (Evangeline) of La Crosse, Mrs. Jack (Lillian) Borowick of Thorp, and Mrs. Norton (Eleanor) Atteridge of Poulsbo, Wash.; 27 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Matt (Minnie) Mohr, six brothers and one sister.

Requiem Mass was offered by Father Edmund Cramer at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning, Dec. 5th at St. Anne’s Church. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were the grandchildren, Raymond Mohr, Alvin Volk, Robert Volk, Leonard Heiting, James Borowick and Bill Heiting.
