Miller, A.J (DEC 1851 - 31 MAY 1917)

Mr. J.A. (following obit indicates that his name was really Allen J. Miller) Miller of Route 3, who was taken to the Eau Claire hospital May 19th, suffering with a complication of diseases, died there Thursday morning of last week and Mrs. Miller who, with her brother and some of his relatives were there with him, took the remains to his old home at Poplar Grove, Ill., where the funeral was held and interment made late last week. Mr. Miller was 65 years old last December. Thirty-two years ago last September he married at Sharon, Wis., and this wife, with their one child, Mrs. Gertie Beard of Popple Grove, Ill., survive him. Mr. and Mrs. Miller are comparative strangers here, coming here only a few years since and buying their farm in the town of Lynn (Clark Co., Wis.), hoping the change might be beneficial to Mr. Miller’s health. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved widow. Mrs. Miller hopes to dispose of her property here at an early date and return to Popple Gove to spend her remaining years with her daughter and the friends of former years.

Miller, Allen J. (December 1851- 31 May 1917)

The remains of A. Miller arrived here Friday morning from Wisconsin and were taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jack Beard at Beaverton, where they funeral was held Saturday morning. Mr. Miller was well known here and respected. He was a resident of Capron for a number of years before his removal to Granton, Wisconsin. His demise was due to gangrene and amputation of a foot was made at the hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, which his friends here regret to know. The burial was in the Capron cemetery. Sympathy is extended to the wife and daughter Mrs. Beard
