Ebben, Carol (7 JUL 1962)

Pink and white summer flowers decorated the altar of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church for the wedding of Miss Carol Ebben and Richard Boie on Saturday, July 7, 1962. Rev. Francis Brockman performed the ten o’clock double ring ceremony. St. Bernard’s Choir sang the Mass with the organ being played by Miss Kathleen Keathing. The groom’s brother, Gary, along with Dennis Meyer and the bride’s cousins Dave Ebben and Terry Herman served the Mass.

Parents of the couple are Mrs. Harvey Ebben and the late Harvey Ebben, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Boie.

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Cliff, wore a gown of filmy organza over bridal taffeta styled with a fitted bodice and 3/4 length sleeves featuring pearl embroidered schiffli embroidery. The chapel sweep skirt was highlight with an embroidered front and back panel. A pearl crown held her French silk illusion veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink sweetheart roses, white stephanotis and ivy, also a white crystal rosary, a gift of the groom.

Miss Gladi Ebben was her cousin’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jim Sneen, the bride’s only sister, and Miss Louella Badzinski, friend of the bride, wearing pink nylon organza street length dresses. Their scoop necklines with short sleeves accented their fitted bodice. The skirts were fashioned with two bows at the waist highlighted by a bouffant overskirt. They carried baskets of painted daisies.

Russ Boie was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Don Ray Izydorek, cousin of the groom, and Jerry Micke, friend of the groom.

A dinner and reception for 250 guests were held at St. Bernard’s Church Parlors. The bride’s sister-in-law Mrs. Cliff Ebben was hostess, with Elaine Anderson of Chippewa and Jan Wagener of Stockton, Ill. serving punch. Presiding at the guest book was Ann Vanderhyden of St. Paul, and cutting the wedding cake were Judy Gulczynski and Barb Pabich. Pouring were Nancy Fisher of Madison and Ann Zais of Boyd.

The bride’s mother witnessed the wedding in a green and brown summer jersey with white accessories. The groom’s mother wore a beige over aqua sheath with aqua accessoris. Both wore a corsage of pink roses.

The bride attended Thorp High School and Milwaukee Accredited Beauty School, and was a beautician at “B” House of Beauty. The groom attended Thorp High School and Stout State College. He is employed as a carpenter by Bud Cook.

After a wedding trip to Michigan, the couple are making their home in Thorp.
