Malnar, Maxine M. (16 JUN 1962)

Vases of white gladioli, aqua mums and white ribbon bows on the pews decorated the Congregation Church, Owen for the marriage of Maxine Marian Malnar and Gerald Stanley Glasshof on Saturday, June 16th, 1962. Rev. Henry Gereau performed the 7:30 p.m. double ring ceremony. Jane Lee sang for the wedding, accompanied by Miss Louise Hansen on the organ.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Emil Malnar, R.R. 3, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.). The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Glasshof.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a silk organza gown featuring empire waist, chapel length train with panels of lace applique embroidered with seed pearls and sequins. A clip of pearls and two organza roses held her silk illusion veil and she carried a cascade bouquet of red roses.

Mrs. Fred Schiltz, aunt of the bride, was matron of honor. Miss Carl Gfund was bridesmaid, and Karen Schiltz, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. The attendants wore aqua silk organza street length dresses enhanced by roses fastened to large bows in the back. Matching crowns with circular veils, white gloves and white carnations tied with aqua ribbons completed their ensemble.

Roger Warner was his cousin’s best man, and Peter Larson was groomsman. Ushers were Ronald Glasshof and Fred Schiltz.

White bells and aqua and white streamers decorated the dining room of the church parlors for the supper and reception.

The bride is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School and Wis. State College at Eau Claire. The past year she has taught English at Ellsworth Public High School. The groom is a graduate of Thorp High School and attended Wis. State College at Eau Claire for two years.

After a wedding trip to Canada, the couple will make their home in rural Thorp, where the groom is farming.

Wedding guests came from Greenwood, Thorp, Marshfield, Owen, Withee, Stanley, Willard, Neillsville, Boyd, Eau Claire, Chippewa, Lublin, Milwaukee, Wis., Minneapolis, Minn., Rockford and Chicago, Ill.
