Drescher, Sandra Lee (Marriage - 10 June 1967)

St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Altoona was the setting for the wedding Saturday of Miss Sandra Lee Drescher of Eau Claire and Dennis Burkart of Altoona. The Rev. Fr. Zormski officiated at a double ring nuptial ceremony at 11 a.m.

Parents of the bride and groom are Mrs. Donald Drescher and the late Donald Drescher of Rt. 1 Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. William Burkart of Altoona.

The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Art Drescher of Neillsville.

The bride’s chapel entrained floor length gown of white peau de soie was fashioned with an A-line skirt. Her three-quarter length sleeves and train were edged with Venetian lace. A white rose headpiece was held her elbow length illusion veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of white and yellow roses with white stephanotis.

Attendants were Miss Judy Hatawau of Eau Claire, as maid of honor; and Misses Joyce Guenther and Karen Smith of Eau Claire, and Joan Johnson of Marinette, as bridesmaids. They wore pastel blue dresses styled with Empire lace tops. Their floor length sheath style skirts were enhanced with lace panels attached to low back neckline. Small blue net veils were attached to their blue net headpieces. Each attendant carried two long-stemmed, yellow roses.

Thomas Burkart of Altoona attended his brother as bestman. Groomsmen were Wayne Drescher of Greenwood, brother of the bride; Charles Hart of Eau Claire; and Steve Burkart of Altoona. Ushers were Bob Arndt of Madison and Mike Murphy of Altoona.

A noon lunch for 175 guests was held in the Legion Hall in Eau Claire.

On their return from a wedding trip into northern Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Burkart will make their home in Eau Claire.

The bride is a 1961 graduate of Loyal High School and attended Wisconsin State University in Eau Claire. She is employed as a secretary or the board of education in Eau Claire.

Mr. Burkart, a 1961 graduate of Regis High School in Eau Claire, is a senior at Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire, and also is employed by the board of education.
